COLUMBIA, SC (January 7, 2020) – A Rock Hill woman who won $15 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery used those winnings to buy another ticket that won her $250,000.

“I started crying,” she told lottery officials.

She says she got off work and stopped at Gee Gees Food Store on Saluda St. in Rock Hill where she scratched off the top prize win on the $10 In the Green scratch-off.

That night she says she slept soundly with the $250,000 winning ticket stuffed underneath her mattress.

One top prize of $250,000 remains in the $10 In the Green game, at odds of 1 in 780,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Gee Gees Food Store in Rock Hill received a commission of $2,500.
