COLUMBIA, SC (February 12, 2026) – At long last, a Hartsville lottery player has won $100,000.
“I’ve been playing the Lottery since it started,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. That’s more than two decades.
“And I always wanted to win more than $500, so I would have to make the trip to Columbia with a ticket,” he said.
It was a Powerball® quick pick purchased at the Lotto Palace II on S. 5th St. in Hartsville that brought him to Columbia in January. His ticket came within one number of winning the Powerball® jackpot on October 29.
“It’s exciting,” he said of the win and his plans.
He’s spending the prize on home renovations.
Lotto Palace II in Hartsville was rewarded with a $1,000 commission for selling the ticket.
The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.
