COLUMBIA, SC (August 6, 2026) – A Myrtle Beach man was scrolling through the news on his phone when he stopped to read about a jackpot-winning ticket that was sold at a store where he plays the Lottery. “Did I win?” he wondered. To find out, he says he drove for over an hour to get home to check his ticket.
And it was him. He won a $260,000 Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot.
“I started freaking out,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
His ticket, a quick pick, purchased from the Circle K on the George Bishop Pkwy. in Myrtle Beach matched all five numbers drawn on July 23 to win the jackpot. He cashed in the ticket the following Monday and told lottery officials he’s waiting on the check to clear the bank.
“I’m about to be debt free,” he said.
For selling the claimed ticket, Circle K #2707061 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $2,600.
The odds of winning a Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
