Eutawville Millionaire Comes Forward

1/9/2014 10:25:25 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (January 9, 2014) – Bells Marina on Old Hwy. 6 in Eutawville announced in mid-December they’d sold a $1 million winning ticket. Yesterday, a local woman surfaced to collect the prize.

“I’ve been riding the ticket around,” laughed the winner, who did not wish to share her name.

She was joined by her children, who say Mom’s always been lucky.

The millionaire doesn’t dispute that fact now that she owns the last remaining top prize in the Lottery’s popular, $10, Money Money Millionaire instant game.

The odds of her finding the winning ticket were 1 in 1.5 million, but she did at Bells Marina.

At home, relaxing and watching television, she scratched the Money Money Millionaire ticket.

“I saw the $1 million on the ticket and laid it down,” she said. “Then I picked it back up.”

She notified her children, and they waited until after the holidays, so they could all come and share the moment with their mom.

“I’m going to enjoy this,” she promised surrounded by family admiring the check.

The winner did not share any definite plans for the winnings.

For selling the claimed ticket, Bells Marina in Eutawville received a commission of $10,000.

Non-winning Money Money Millionaire tickets can be entered online or by mail for a drawing to win a $1 million prize. Tickets must be received by Thursday, April 10 for the drawing the following Thursday, April 17. For complete details, visit sceducationlottery.com.

NOTE: A St. Matthews man celebrated a $100,000 lottery win with family over the weekend. He won on a Big Winning Numbers ticket purchased at 4 Way Stop on Magnolia St. in Orangeburg. He says for some strange reason he bought a scratch-off ticket instead of playing his numbers. He’s buying a new truck. Odds of winning $100,000 on the Big Winning Numbers ticket are 1 in 480,000.
