COLUMBIA, SC (December 8, 2022) – A Midlands man turned a $15 lottery win into a $375,000 windfall.
It happened at the S M Mart on Hwy. 1 S. in Lugoff, where he cashed in a $15 winning ticket and decided to use those winnings to buy another scratch-off. He couldn’t believe his good luck when he won a $375,000 top prize.
“My hands were shaking,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
And he says the win has changed his mind about one thing.
“I always said if I hit it big I wouldn’t play anymore,” he said. “But I think I’ll play every once in a while.”
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 960,000 to win $375,000 in the Mighty Jumbo Bucks game. Two more top prizes remain on the ticket.
S M Mart in Lugoff received a commission of $3,750 for selling the claimed ticket.
