COLUMBIA, SC (March 11, 2022) – A Midlands husband and wife disagreed over how much they won on a lottery ticket.
The wife though she scratched off a $1,000 prize.
Her husband looked at the ticket and said, “No, you won $100,000.”
He was right.
“I was shell shocked,” the wife said, when she took a second look at the $3 ticket purchased at the Murphy Express #8905 on Sunset Blvd. in Lexington.
She initially counted 10 words that matched on the Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword ticket, but a recount revealed 11 words matched for the top prize win.
“It made us both really happy,” the wife said.
The winner claimed the last top prize of $100,000 in the Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Murphy Express #8905 in Lexington received a commission of $1,000.
