COLUMBIA, SC (February 1, 2022) – A York lottery winner has been especially generous with his $30,000 in prize money, choosing to share it with his parents and a close friend.
It was his friend who had the lucky touch. He asked her to run inside the Pride Quick Stop at 328 S. Congress St. in York for him and pick out a couple of $2 scratch-offs. One of them won him the $30,000 top prize.
To thank her for the winning selection, he offered to help her buy a car.
“When I told her, she started crying,” he said.
His parents were just as moved when he gave the rest of his prize to them.
“My parents always looked after me,” he said. “I’m glad I was able to help them out.”
The York winner left one top prize of $30,000 in the Money Match Multiplier instant ticket game at odds of 1 in 576,000.
Pride Quick Stop LLC in York received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
