COLUMBIA, SC (February 8, 2022) – A Lowcountry wife thought her husband was playing a joke on her when she won $30,000 on a lottery ticket he gave her.
“Is this a fake ticket?” she asked him.
“No,” he replied.
The husband picked out the real ticket along with a few more $2 tickets at the A Plus convenience store at 9910 Dorchester Rd. in Summerville. When he got home the couple divvied up the tickets. He says he watched as his wife scratched hers and announced they won $3, then changed it to $30, and then froze and said they won $30,000.
The couple says winning felt like a real boost for them both, and they’ve decided to split the cash fifty-fifty.
“I think my wife’s already spent more than I have,” laughed the husband. “I’m frugal, I only buy $2 lottery tickets.”
The Summerville player beat the 1 in 528,000 odds to win $30,000 in the Lucky No. 7 Doubler game. This game has two top prizes remaining.
