UNIQUE POWERBALL® TICKET WORTH $400,000

COLUMBIA, SC (July 17, 2008) – One winning Powerball® ticket from the July 16, 2008 drawing is worth a substantial $400,000! But the prize amount did not result from one single row of lucky numbers. The player, who hasn’t come forward yet, chose to play the same five numbers on two separate rows. The player purchased the distinctive ticket at Food Lion #1605 in Myrtle Beach.
Normally, when a player correctly matches all five white ball numbers, the result is a $200,000 win. With the winning five white ball numbers matching on two rows on one ticket, the prize doubles to $400,000. That’s exactly what happened in the case of the $400,000 unclaimed ticket.
The winning white ball numbers in the July 16 drawing were 3, 15, 23, 29, and 42. The red Powerball® number was 17. The PowerPlay® multiplier selected was 4.
No one matched all white ball numbers and the red Powerball®, so the jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is an estimated $43 million dollars.
