COLUMBIA, SC (February 17, 2010) – The staff at Market Place Amoco Food Shop on Charleston Highway in Cayce is smiling a little more today. Their store sold a $200,000 winning Holiday Riches ticket. There are still two top prizes in the game, with more than $6 million in prizes remaining.
The retailer received a 1 percent sales incentive. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission. The sales incentive is capped at $50,000.
The player who purchased the lucky ticket does not want her name publicized, but she is from Cayce.
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2.2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2010. Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
