COLUMBIA, SC (March 7, 2014) – Winning $1 million seemed almost too easy for a Manning lottery player.

“I simply went in the store and bought a ticket,” the winner said explaining how it’s done.

She wasn’t feeling particularly lucky when she picked out the winning ticket at her local Save Way 14 on W. Winfield Dr., but that didn’t matter. She beat odds of 1 in 1.4 million to own the first top prize in the Millionaire Madness scratch-off game, a new ticket introduced Tuesday, February 28.

Her first splurge as a millionaire was taking today off from work to accept her check in the amount of $680,000 after taxes.

“I never thought in a lifetime that I’d have this kind of money,” she said.

Manning’s first lottery millionaire did not share any definite plans for the winnings, but says she’s open to input from her husband and children.

Two more $1 million top prizes remain in the $10 Millionaire Madness game.

For selling the claimed ticket, Save Way 14 in Manning received a commission of $10,000.

Non-winning Millionaire Madness tickets can be entered online or by mail for a drawing to win a $1 million prize. For complete details, visit sceducationlottery.com.
