COLUMBIA, SC (February 11, 2016) – A Myrtle Beach tourist didn’t finish scratching his lottery ticket, he didn’t have too. He stopped when he saw $1 million.
“I was shocked,” he said.
He bought the Gold Millions ticket and a newspaper at the Food Lion on N. Kings Hwy. yesterday morning.
“When he got home,” his wife said. “He pulled me out of bed screaming, ‘I won $1 million!’”
The couple from Connecticut has been vacationing in Myrtle Beach every winter since retiring.
Now that he’s a millionaire, the husband is thinking about buying their own place at the beach.
Two top prizes of $1 million remain to be won in the $10 Gold Millions game at odds of 1 in 1.6 million.
Players can also enter non-winning Gold Millions tickets by mail or online at sclottery.com for another chance to win $1 million in a second-chance drawing.
For selling the claimed ticket, Food Lion #1605 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $10,000.
