COLUMBIA, SC (March 3, 2016) – A Greenwood man who dropped by the Sai Food Store on the 25 Bypass because he was thirsty is $250,000 richer.
He bought something to drink and a $10 lottery scratch-off. At first he thought he won $250 until three more zeroes followed.
“It’s life changing,” the winner told lottery officials in Columbia yesterday when he cashed in the Maximum Money ticket.
Only his wife and kids know about the win that will pay off the car and house.
“Then I’m going to relax,” he said.
As of this release, one top prize of $250,000 remains in the $10 Maximum Money game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Sai Food Store in Greenwood received a commission of $2,500.
