COLUMBIA, SC (September 21, 2017) – A Batesburg woman’s patience ran out this week. Fifteen days after winning the Lottery, she cashed in her winning ticket worth $125,000.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said, describing what happened next. “I was shaking and couldn’t speak.”
On Labor Day, she was relaxing in her den sipping a cold Coke and watching wrestling on television when she scratched a Big Money Maker ticket she’d bought at the Caper House #4 on Pine St. in Batesburg.
A $125,000 top prize was suddenly all hers.
She didn’t talk about what happened again until this Tuesday. She took the winning ticket out of the safe and out of a Ziploc bag she’d stored it in to deliver it to the Lottery.
“If I’d looked at that ticket every day, I’d have been in the hospital,” she confessed.
No surprise, she says she’ll take her time deciding how to spend the winnings too.
“I’ll talk it over with my family,” she said.
Now that the prize is paid, Caper House #4 in Batesburg receives a $1,250 commission.
Three top prizes of $125,000 remain in the $5 Big Money Maker game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
