COLUMBIA, SC (July 16, 2018) – A Greenville woman won $250,000 on a lottery ticket she didn’t choose.
The clerk at the Red Robin Foods on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville mistakenly handed her a different scratch-off from the one she picked out, but the player bought the ticket anyway.
The miscommunication paid off, and she’s paying her good fortune forward.
“I’m going to give to my church and then give back to the community,” she said. “As for me, I’m good.”
The Greenville player won on the ($10) “7” game. Four top prizes of $250,000 remain in the game at odds of 1 in 660,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Red Robin Foods in Greenville received a commission of $2,500.
