Turbeville Man Wins $250,000 on His Lunchbreak

COLUMBIA, SC (May 18, 2018) – A Turbeville man won the Lottery on his lunchbreak.

Instead of calling it a day, he went back to work and told his boss and coworkers that he scratched off a $250,000 win sitting in the parking lot of the SM Mart on S. Fraser St. in Georgetown. Everyone was happy for him.

But when he showed up for work the next day, his boss made him take the day off to go cash in his winning ticket.

“I’m overjoyed,” he told lottery officials when he arrived at the Claims Center in Columbia.

“I’m going to take care of my kids and start college funds for them,” he said. “I’d like a truck.”

He won playing the $10 Fantastic 10s game. Two top prizes of $250,000 remain in the game, at odds of 1 in 660,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, SM Mart in Georgetown received a commission of $2,500.
