COLUMBIA, SC (May 30, 2019) – An Irmo man cashed in a winning ticket this week and said, “I don’t have any luck.” But the facts say otherwise.
For starters, he won $100,000.
He says he bought the winning ticket moments before sales for the Palmetto Cash 5 game were suspended for Saturday’s drawing.
He was with his wife grocery shopping when something told him to get a ticket. He asked his wife for $10 and rushed to customer service just in time to buy one.
When he checked the numbers later that night, the last row was a perfect match winning him the $100,000 top prize (19, 28, 35, 36, and 37).
“Incredible,” he said. “Maybe I am lucky.”
The odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942.
For selling the claimed ticket, The Publix Super Market #883 in Lexington received a commission of $1,000.
