COLUMBIA, SC (February 18, 2020) – Loose change inspired a Chapin man to win $250,000.
The winner’s morning started by cleaning his car and vacuuming up $5 in quarters. Since his morning chores were finished, he decided to purchase a lottery ticket. After all, he had plenty of loose change to scratch a ticket with.
When the clerk scanned his ticket and told the winner he needed to go to the Lottery’s Claims Center, his response was, “Are you sure?”
Using some of that morning’s quarters to pay for the parking meter, the winner and his wife visited the Claims Center in Columbia. He was shocked to find he had won $250,000!
“Tell me that again, so I can make sure it’s real,” said the winner. “I can’t believe this.”
The winner plans to pay-off debt, take care of his family and do something fun.

At the time of this release, one top prize of $250,000 remains on the $10 instant ticket Maximum Money, at odds of 1 in 780,000.
