COLUMBIA, SC (April 10, 2024) – A Midlands woman won $100 on a scratch-off ticket and turned it into $300,000.
How did she do it? She spent $20 of her $100 winnings on two lottery tickets, won her money back and then bought two more tickets that caught her eye.
“I went out to my car to scratch them,” she said. “And I was surprised.”
A few minutes later she ran back inside the Pantry store on E. Columbia Ave. in Batesburg to check a Max Money scratch-off with the store’s ticket checker. When the clerk asked how much she won, she told him, “You can’t pay me.”
She is saving most of the $300,000 win for retirement.
The winner claimed the last top prize of $300,000 in Max Money game at odds of 1 in 936,000. The game is no longer available.
Pantry #3 in Batesburg received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
