COLUMBIA, SC (August 13, 2026) – A Grand Strand lottery player tried something new and won $75,000.
Instead of buying her usual $3 crossword scratch-off, she opted for a $3 Cash Lines ticket instead. She made the switch at the Kroger grocery store on Main St in Myrtle Beach.
“I wasn’t sure if I won,” she admitted to South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
So, she reached for the ticket checker on her phone to be sure a to drive to the Lottery’s Claims Center in Columbia was necessary. When the message read “Claim at Lottery” she got ready to go.
“I was elated,” she said, explaining the win was perfect timing.
She says she recently invested in her business, and the lottery winnings will help her recoup what she spent.
The odds of winning $75,000 playing Cash Lines are 1 in 528,000. The game is no longer available.
Kroger #20 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $750 for selling the claimed ticket.
