COLUMBIA, SC (September 18, 2026) – A Lowcountry man got his wife a lottery ticket at Publix. She scratched it and giggled.
“I think we won $30,000,” she told him.
He looked at the $2 ticket and said, “I think we did.”
The husband picked out the winning ticket at the Publix grocery store at 45 Pembroke Dr. on Hilton Head Island.
They beat the 1 in 750,000 odds on the Tic Tac Doubler game to leave two more top prizes remaining.
To celebrate the couple bought a bottle of champagne.
Publix Super Markets #473 in Hilton Head Island received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
