COLUMBIA, SC (June 12, 2025) – You wouldn’t know an Upstate man won $2 million on a scratch-off ticket.
“I’m not changing anything,” the winner, who does not wish to be identified, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
But something big did happen when he dropped by the Value Spot convenience store on SE Main St. in Simpsonville and bought a $20 scratch-off. He scratched it sitting in his car in the store’s parking lot. He didn’t believe what he saw. He says once he got his wits about him, he drove home from the store a millionaire.
“I’m able to live life comfortably,” the winner said.
The winner beat the 1 in 1,320,000 odds in the 200X game. Three more top prizes of $2 million remain in the game.
For selling the claimed ticket, Value Spot #4415 in Simpsonville received a commission of $20,000.
