COLUMBIA, SC (May 21, 2021) – An Upstate lottery player was so surprised she won that she couldn’t hold on to her ticket.
“I threw it down,” she said. “It was a shock.”
She picked up the ticket and looked closer at her $30,000 prize.
“I was in disbelief,” she told lottery officials after cashing in the winning ticket that she purchased for $2 at the Spinx #112 on Pendleton St. in Greenville.
The winner is sure of one thing, her plans for the prize money.
“I’m fixing up my house,” she said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 432,000 to leave two top prizes of $30,000 in the ($2) Lucky Corners game.
Spinx #112 in Greenville received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
