CHARLESTON MAN WINS $600,000 ON POWERBALL®

6/16/2006 9:29:46 AM

Columbia, SC: A Moncks Corner man can breathe a little easier now that he has won $600,000 in Wednesday night’s Powerball® drawing. John Kisner matched all five white balls (4, 14, 15, 40, and 48) to win $200,000. He also paid an extra dollar for the PowerPlay® option, which multiplies all non-jackpot winnings by the number selected. The PowerPlay® number drawn was 3, making Kisner’s grand prize total $600,000. The Powerball® was 12. Kisner did not match the Powerball® number.

“I don’t want to be greedy,” said Kisner. “I wished I had the Powerball®, but I’ll take it [$600,000].”

Kisner, who was laid-off in April, says he’ll save the money and fix his house and maybe buy a truck.

“I guess I can call the unemployment office and tell them to stop mailing my check,” he stated. “It just wouldn’t be right to keep that.”

Kisner quick picked his numbers at the Wildwood Conve Store #1 located at 1104B S Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner.

No one correctly matched all five white balls and the red Powerball® to win Wednesday night’s Powerball® jackpot. The new estimated jackpot for Saturday, June 17, is $100 million.
