COLUMBIA, SC (June 14, 2010) – An Aiken man’s decision to stop for a soda did more than just quench his thirst this past weekend. Inside 3 Way Food Mart #7 in Aiken, the man sipped his soda and scratched an Extreme Cash instant ticket. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
"Did I just win $200,000?" he asked the clerk.
"Yes" was the answer.
The player asked that his name not be publicized, but admits he hasn’t gotten much sleep since scratching the ticket. "Wow, it was one ticket that I picked out," the winner said. "Now I can buy a house and do something nice for my family."
Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. 3 Way Food Mart #7 will receive a $2,000 retailer commission.
More than $15 million in prizes remain in the $10 Extreme Cash game, including five top prizes of $200,000.
