COLUMBIA, SC (July 14, 2011) – Whether you call it Lottery Lane or Winner’s Row, a two-mile stretch of road in Gaffney deserves the nod.
In less than two months, three South Carolina Education Lottery retailers on Floyd Baker Blvd. sold $10,000 winning tickets to locals.
The route takes less than five minutes to travel by car.
Start at Petro Plus at 901 W. Floyd Baker Blvd. where owner Bob Nayee sold the first winning Carolina Millionaires Club ticket to one of his store’s regulars in late April.
“Maybe I’ll be famous,” said Nayee joking about being the first.
Luck traveled up the road and stopped at Hwy. 11 Food Mart. Owner Dadu Patel was glad he could keep the streak alive.
“I’m excited for more,” he said.
With the second $10,000 winning Carolina Millionaires Club ticket sold, Nayee noticed more of his customers playing the Lottery hoping luck would strike again. It did, further up the street.
Head north to A&D Food Mart, the area’s #1 lottery retailer, and in June site of the third winning Carolina Millionaires Club ticket. A&D Food Mart owner David Patel sees the winner often.
The winner, from Gaffney, told lottery officials he bought a car with his $10,000.
“I heard there had been a lot of winners, and I was just glad I was one of them,” he said.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been appropriated to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
