COLUMBIA, SC (October 10, 2011) – It didn’t take Herbert Williams long to decide what he was going to do with his $20,000 lottery winnings. A week later, the Blackville resident has already bought a car and is having some work done on his house.
He told lottery officials he got home from work and relaxed by scratching the $2 Tattoo Doubler ticket.
He says what happened next was luck.
“Definitely good luck,” he added.
Now that the excitement of winning and spending $20,000 is behind him, how is he doing?
“Oh, I am just enjoying the car,” he said.
As of this release, four top prizes of $20,000 remain in the $2 Tattoo Doubler game.
The odds of winning $20,000 are 1 in 270,000.
Rainbow Gas Garden #10 in Barnwell received a commission of $200 for selling the claimed ticket.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 932,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
