COLUMBIA, SC (November 16, 2011) – A long line at the barbershop led a Greer man to try his luck with a lottery ticket.

He knew his wife wouldn’t be happy he bought a ticket, but when he scratched and won $200,000, he decided she would forgive him.

He drove straight home without a haircut.

“You sweet man,” she said when he handed over the ticket. “I’m so glad you didn’t listen to me.”

The couple still can’t believe a Blue Sapphire Bucks ticket is taking care of their mortgage.

“It was like finding a needle in a haystack,” said the winner.

As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Blue Sapphire Bucks game.

Odds of winning the top prize are one in 411,428.57.

Vitri Get N Go Food Mart received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 932,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.6 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
