COLUMBIA, SC (September 25, 2012) – A Moncks Corner man won the Lottery and informed his boss first.
“We shook hands when I told him,” the winner said.
The two aren’t parting ways.
The winner will continue to work remodeling homes and bank his $200,000 lottery prize.
He purchased the first top prize winning ticket in the $10 Green and Gold game from the Kangaroo Express #448 at 1677 N. Main St. in Summerville.
“I stopped there on a whim and bought just the one ticket,” he said. “It landed right in my lap.”
As of this release, four top prizes remain in the game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 624,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo Express #448 in Summerville received a commission of $2,000.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.8 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
