COLUMBIA, SC (May 24, 2013) – An Orangeburg man won $200,000 on a lottery ticket. That was six months ago. He cashed in the Aces High scratch-off earlier in the week.

He told lottery officials he knew the winnings would be here when he was ready and waiting wasn’t as hard as you might think.

“I feel fantastic now,” he said.

The Orangeburg man claimed the last top prize of $200,000 in the $10 Aces High game. The odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 462,857.14.

For selling the claimed ticket, F L Metts Grocery in Orangeburg received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
