COLUMBIA, SC (July 12, 2013) – This past week has been good to a couple of Anderson area lottery players, each winning $200,000 on scratch-offs.
B K World on N. Main St. in Anderson and MJ Foodmart Inc. on Flatrock Rd. in Iva sold the winning tickets.
The winner from B K World skipped desert when he won.
He was seated at the kitchen table getting ready to enjoy a banana split when he scratched the Crazy Wild 10s ticket.
“I got a little teary eyed,” he said knowing he overcame odds of 1 in half-a-million to win the game’s last top prize of $200,000.
Likewise, the MJ Foodmart Inc. winner was sitting down when he scratched his ticket. He says he almost fell out of his chair when he won.
“I bought just the one ticket,” he said winning the first $200,000 top prize in the South Carolina Gold game that went on sale the end of June.
Four top prizes remain in the $10 South Carolina Gold game with odds of 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed winning ticket, B K World and MJ Foodmart Inc. received a commission of $2,000 each.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3.1 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
