Blythewood Man Cashes in Three $200,000 Winning Tickets

COLUMBIA, SC (March 2, 2016) – A Blythewood man has come forward to claim not one, not two, but three winning tickets each worth $200,000, earning him the distinction of being the Lottery’s first three-time winner.

He asked for privacy, but confirmed his unusual habit of buying multiple, identical tickets for the same drawing. His method paid off Sunday with a Palmetto Cash 5 win totaling $600,000.

The Sharpe Shoppe #4 at 10400 Wilson Blvd. in Blythewood is his lucky store, and now that all three prizes are claimed will receive a $6,000 commission.

Sunday’s Palmetto Cash 5 winning numbers were 2, 15, 22, 30, and 32. Spending the extra $1 for Power-Up multiplied the $100,000 prize to $200,000 when a “2” was drawn.

The odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884. The odds of winning three times in the same drawing are unbelievably lucky.

As for the winner, he’s taking the win in stride and sticking to his strategy.

“This isn’t going to change me,” he said. “I ran my numbers four times last night.”
