COLUMBIA, SC (January 18, 2021) – Grand Strand lottery players should check their tickets. With no winner in Friday night’s Mega Millions® drawing, the jackpot for Tuesday has rolled to its second largest ever – $850 million. But not before two Grand Strand players, who bought tickets at convenience stores 20 minutes apart, came close to winning it all.

A ticket worth $40,000 was sold at the Circle K #2720792 on Glenns Bay Rd. in Surfside Beach, and another ticket worth $10,000 was purchased at the Circle K #2723490 on Oleander Dr. in Myrtle Beach.

The ticket holders matched four white ball numbers and the gold Megaball® number to win $10,000. The Surfside Beach player purchased the Megaplier® option for an additional $1 to have their winnings multiplied to $40,000 when a “4” was drawn.
