COLUMBIA, SC (April 15, 2021) – A Fort Mill man thought he won $200 on a lottery ticket. A closer look revealed he’d missed seeing three extra zeros. He won $200,000.
“It was pretty awesome,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He says he took a chance on a 5 Times Lucky scratch-off at the Country Store on Gold Hill Rd. in Fort Mill, scratched the ticket standing inside the store and after a double take walked out a top prize winner.
“I was amazed,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 750,000 to win $200,000 in the ($5) 5 Times Lucky game. Six top prizes remain in the game.
Country Store in Fort Mill received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
