COLUMBIA, SC (June 30, 2021) – After selling a lottery ticket worth $2 million earlier this month, Harry Patel, who owns the Coastal Petro on Burcale Rd. in Myrtle Beach, said it wouldn’t be the store’s last big win. And he was right.
Coastal Petro sold a $30,000 winning ticket last week to a local man.
“It’s good news,” said Patel. “For a long time we haven’t had a top prize win at the store, and now we have two. There’s a lucky cloud over us.”
The South Carolina Education Lottery caught up with the winner on Monday.
“My friend wanted to stop at the store,” the winner said.
He handed his friend a couple of winning tickets for small amounts that he had in his car visor and asked her to cash those in and pick out a couple more. He never expected one of the $2 tickets his friend chose would win him $30,000.
The winner has already spent some of his prize money. “I tipped my friend,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 432,000 to leave one top prize of $30,000 in the ($2) Money Mania game.
