COLUMBIA, SC (May 13, 2022) – A red lottery ticket won a Midlands man some green.
The red ticket caught his eye at the Circle Quick Stop on the Columbia Hwy. in Leesville. He scratched The Money Game ticket and won $300,000.
“I never expected to win that much,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials after cashing in the prize. “I was just hoping to win a little and help education.”
The winner, who does not which to be identified, says he supports the Lottery because his children earned lottery-funded college scholarships. He plans to not only help his kids with the winnings but save for the future.
“It’s amazing,” he said of the win.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 900,000 to leave five top prizes of $300,000 remaining in The Money Game ticket.
Circle Quick Stop in Leesville received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
