COLUMBIA, SC (January 19, 2024) – An Upstate man says winning $2 MILLION playing the South Carolina Education Lottery came as quite a surprise.

“My mind was blown,” he said. “I started shaking a little.”

The winner told lottery officials it was a spur of the moment decision to get the $20 scratch-off at the Speedee Mart at 730 W. Main St. in Clinton.

And while the millionaire doesn’t have any concrete plans for his winnings yet, he’s pretty confident he’ll think of something to do with it.

The winner beat the 1 in 1,260,000 odds to leave three more top prizes of $2 million remaining in the Millionaire’s Club game.

For selling the claimed ticket, Speedee Mart in Clinton received a commission of $20,000.
