COLUMBIA, SC (February 26, 2008) – The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is rolling out the red carpet for its newest homegrown instant ticket, Lowcountry Boil. The Lottery game is among an array of entertainment offered at the 3rd Annual BB&T Charleston Food & Wine Festival from Thursday, February 28-Sunday, March 2. Indulge in a one-of-a-kind opportunity that combines the city’s best culinary talents into one spectacular weekend!
Please join the Lottery in the festival’s Culinary Village located in downtown Charleston’s Marion Square in the Grand Tasting Tent on Meeting Street from Friday, February 29-Sunday, March 2 for your chance to purchase lottery products and spin the wheel for exciting promotional items! SCEL also invites you to kick it up with some BBQ & Blues at the Festival’s grand finale on Sunday, March 2, from 4–7 p.m. The BBQ & Blues event is sponsored by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
To help celebrate the Lottery’s Lowcountry Boil instant ticket, Signature Catering by Dupre will be serving samples of its Lowcountry Boil and Shrimp and Grits signature dishes. Fresh domestic shrimp will be provided throughout the festivities by Charleston’s Wild American Shrimp Company. The Lottery’s Lowcountry Boil instant ticket along with Signature Catering’s regional dishes and Wild American Shrimp Company’s local ingredients promise to offer an authentic taste of South Carolina. The Lowcountry Boil instant ticket carries a one dollar price point and boasts a top prize of $10,000.
Since its inception in 2002, the South Carolina Education Lottery has launched more than 250 instant games and six online games. Currently, SCEL offers 39 instant games and five online games. SCEL produces an average of four new games each month in a variety of themes, play styles, and price points of $1-$10. During the past six years, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.74 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.
