COLUMBIA, SC (March 7, 2024) – A Lowcountry man was feeling lucky when he decided to play the Lottery and won $200,000.
He picked out the winning ticket after grocery shopping at the Harris Teeter at 9500 Dorchester Rd. in Summerville.
“I felt a little lucky that day, but I never would have thought I’d won that much,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He says he took the ticket home and scratched off the numbers first. Then he went back and scratched off the prize amount last.
“I saw three zeroes and then more zeroes,” he said. “I was like, wow, look at me.”
For selling the claimed ticket, Harris Teeter LLC #363 in Summerville received a commission of $2,000.
Two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Emerald Green game at odds of 1 in 960,000.
