“I about fainted,” says Lottery’s $200,000 Winner

COLUMBIA, SC (June 26, 2014) – A Mayo man would have fainted had he not been sitting down when he won the Lottery.

“My wife says I sure am lucky,” he said when he told her about the $200,000 prize.

She’s getting a new car.

The winner is celebrating being debt free.

“Winning felt crazy,” he told lottery officials waiting on his check.

He says he won sitting in his car in the parking lot of the Li’l Cricket #3848 on Battleground Rd. in Cowpens. He drove home for his son take a look at the $10 Maximum Money scratch-off to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.

“The last number on the ticket won it,” he said, satisfied he took home the final top prize in the game. The odds of him finding it were 1 in 600,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Li’l Cricket #3848 in Cowpens received a commission of $2,000.
