COLUMBIA, SC (June 17, 2014) – It took a few days, but a Greenwood man says winning $250,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery has finally sunk in.
“I never expected that to happen,” the winner and occasional scratch-off player admitted.
But last week, there he was standing in the parking lot of the Greenwood Shell #101 on the 72 Bypass with a winning ticket in his hand.
“The important people in my life know,” he said, like his children whose college fund just grew.
One top prize of $250,000 remains in The Big $10 Ticket game. Odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Greenwood Shell #101 in Greenwood received a commission of $2,500.
