Midlands Neighbors Split $100,000 Powerball® Prize Three Ways

COLUMBIA, SC (February 9, 2022) – Three Midlands neighbors are sharing a $100,000 Powerball® prize.

They were at a party and heard the jackpot was up, so the three chipped in and bought a ticket together.

They quick picked their numbers at the Pitt Stop #12 at 200 Knox Abbott Dr. in Cayce for the Monday, December 27 drawing (36, 38, 45, 62, 64 and PB: 19).

When the neighbor holding onto the ticket realized they matched four of the five white ball numbers drawn and the red Powerball® number to win $100,000 with PowerPlay®, he called the group together and broke the exciting news.

“We split it three ways,” said the group’s spokesman.

After taxes each winner took home around $23,000. And all three had the same idea for what to do with the prize money, save it. They aren’t done yet.

“We’re picked another set of number to play,” said the spokesman for the group. “We are going to win again.”

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129.

For selling the claimed ticket, Pitt Stop #12 in Cayce received a commission of $1,000.
