Columbia, SC: The Lottery Express, a 2002 Ford Excursion, hits the road again today to promote the start of the Shark Cash scratch-off ticket. The Lottery Express will be traveling around the state each Tuesday in August stopping at various retail locations to give away prizes and to visit local media contacts.
The Shark Cash ticket is the first in a new series of scratch-off tickets from the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) to help promote educational programs and organizations. The South Carolina Aquarium is the first in this new series with “Shark Cash.”
The uniqueness of Shark Cash ticket is that individuals who purchase this ticket will not only support one of the leading educational not-for-profits in the state, but they will also have a chance to receive a family membership to the Aquarium, $4 off admission to the Aquarium or a cash prize, up to $2000. Overall odds of winning are 1 in 5.
The Lottery Express will visit different regions of the state beginning today, August 6, in the Charleston area and continuing August 13 in the Midlands, August 20 in the Upstate and August 27 in the Florence and Grand Strand vicinity. Lottery staff, Dr. Christopher Andrews, executive director of the South Carolina Aquarium and both the SCEL lottery ball mascot and the South Carolina Aquarium’s shark mascot will travel on the Lottery Express each day.
After the unveiling of the Shark Cash ticket today at the South Carolina Aquarium, the Lottery Express will travel throughout the Charleston vicinity to Hanahan, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner, Summerville and downtown Charleston.
On Tuesday, August 13, the Lottery Express will make its way throughout the Midlands greeting people in Columbia, West Columbia, Irmo, Lexington, Northeast Columbia and Blythewood.
A complete Shark Cash Lottery Express tour schedule and an interactive map of destinations will be posted on the South Carolina Education Lottery’s website (www.sceducationlottery.com.)
