COLUMBIA, SC (April 14, 2009) – Festival goers will find more than shrimp and grits on the menu at this year’s Taste of Beaufort May 2. They can enjoy sampling a lottery ticket or two!
The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) will be selling a full array of lottery tickets during the event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
A $10 lottery purchase will allow players to spin the prize wheel for great promotional items including T-shirts, sunglasses, koozies and a Carnival® cruise for two!
A Taste of Beaufort also features plenty of Lowcountry fare, traditional restaurant favorites and live music. The event is located at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown historic Beaufort.
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery was returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
