COLUMBIA, SC (November 10, 2009) – The South Carolina Education Lottery Commission voted today to move forward with the proposal to add the Mega Millions game to the line-up of games currently offered for sale in the Palmetto State.
The nine-member Board voted unanimously to allow cross-selling of Mega Millions and Powerball® as early as January 31, 2010.
South Carolina is one of 31 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands belonging to the Multi-State Lottery Association which operates Powerball®. SCEL began selling Powerball® tickets in October 2002. Mega Millions is also a multi-state jackpot game currently offered in 12 states.
