COLUMBIA, SC (August 13, 2015) – Until now, the only person that knew of Jamielynn Maldonado’s lottery win was her husband.
She broke the news to him on Friday that she won $250,000.
“I was so nervous and excited,” she said.
The rest of the couple’s weekend was anything but ordinary.
Maldonado barely slept and couldn’t concentrate. Her thoughts kept returning to the $10 Classic Cash scratch-off locked in the couple’s safe.
Monday morning she turned the winning ticket over to the Lottery.
The prize money will help the couple’s church and their aging parents.
“I’m going to live my normal life,” Maldonado said.
Two top prizes of $250,000 remain in the Classic Cash game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, The Spinx Company #105 in Greenville received a commission of $2,500.
