COLUMBIA, SC (May 11, 2017) – A Neeses man thought about changing his lottery numbers but, boy, he’s glad he didn’t. Monday night his numbers turned lucky, winning him $1 million and making him the Lottery’s first Palmetto Cash 5 millionaire.

“Wow!” he told lottery officials describing the moment he knew he won it.

He says he checked his ticket at least ten times, and every time all five numbers matched those drawn on Monday, May 8 (4, 5, 31, 32, and 34).

“This means full security for me,” he told lottery officials today while awaiting a check for his winnings. “Anything I want I don’t have to go without or borrow, I can go and get it.”

Because he “Powered-Up” for an additional $1, his $100,000 prize was multiplied to $1 MILLION when a special “10X” multiplier was drawn as part of the Lottery’s limited run Palmetto Cash 5 10X® Promotion.

“I played yesterday,” he said, hoping to have another winning ticket on his hands. “Money won’t change me, I’m the same guy.”

The odds of winning $1 million playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 8,031,072.

For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Pantry in Orangeburg received a commission of $10,000.
