The winner told lottery officials that her father, who passed away, loved to play the Lottery. On his birthday she tied her luck on a ticket.
“I heard his voice saying to ‘Go for it,’” she said.
She picked out a $300,000 Extra Play scratch-off at the Short Trip #101 on S. Boundary St. in Manning. She scratched it to win the game’s top prize.
“I’m still in shock, it hasn’t sunk in yet,” the winner said.
She plans to buy a house with the prize money.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 1,000,000 to win $300,000 in the ($10) $300,000 Extra Play game. Four top prizes remain in the game.
Short Trip #101 in Manning received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
