COLUMBIA, SC (October 28, 2020) – A Greenwood man’s evening turned out better than expected.
He was at home watching television, eating take out and scratching a lottery ticket when a $100,000 win had him put down his burger and fries.
“I must have looked at that ticket a hundred times,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He won by matching letters to form 11 words on a $3 Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword ticket that he purchased from the Quick Pantry #16 on Calhoun Ave. in Greenwood.
“I play for fun,” he said, with plans to use the winnings to help his family.
Two top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $3 Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
Quick Pantry #16 in Greenwood received a commission of $1,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
