COLUMBIA, SC (April 13, 2021) – An Upstate lottery player is filled with happiness after winning $300,000.
“It’s a happy day, happy feeling and happy family,” the winner told lottery officials.
The Gaffney man says he was on his way to the bank, when he stopped and played the Lottery at the A&D Food Mart on W. Floyd Baker Blvd. in Gaffney.
“Oh, my,” he said, after scratching off a big win on a $300,000 Extra Play ticket.
He called his wife from the convenience store’s parking lot. He told her they’d won the Lottery and would have to do something special to celebrate.
“She screamed for joy,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 1,000,000 to win the last top prize of $300,000 in the ($10) $300,000 Extra Play game.
A&D Food Mart in Gaffney received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
