COLUMBIA, SC (July 1, 2022) – A week has passed since an Upstate man won $200,000 playing the Lottery, and he hasn’t spent a dime of it.
The South Carolina Education Lottery caught up with the winner at work. He told us that he bought the ticket at the Hot Spot #1201 on W. Main St. in Easley. He got in his car, braced the ticket against his steering wheel and started scratching. He couldn’t believe his good fortune.
“I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me,” he said. “And it still hasn’t sunk in yet.”
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 750,000 to leave three top prizes remaining in the Color of Money game.
Hot Spot #1201 in Easley received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
