COLUMBIA, SC (November 3, 2023) – Working together, a Lowcountry couple checked and double checked their Powerball® ticket.
They couldn’t believe the ticket matched five out of six numbers drawn on September 6, coming up one number short of a then half-a-billion dollar jackpot (9, 14, 20, 23, 63 and PB: 1). They won $150,000.
The Lottery spoke with the husband this week. He says “it’s still hard to believe.”
He quick picked the winning numbers at the A Plus #40477H at 8945 University Blvd. in North Charleston. The store was rewarded with a $1,500 commission for selling the ticket. And the winner says he’ll keep playing.
“Winning felt good,” he said. So did paying off his house.
The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.
