COLUMBIA, SC (March 3, 2009) – Grab your dancing shoes and get your green on for the annual St. Pat’s in Five Points festival on Saturday, March 14, 2009.
New this year is Shaggin’ on Santee, a music event sure to get you moving and grooving, from 1-6 p.m. Five DJ’s from around the state will host a DJ Throwdown, each dedicating an hour to Beach, Shag, Boogie and Blues tunes. In honor of the official state dance, the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is showcasing its Beach Music instant ticket, with prizes up to $20,000!
Specially themed instant tickets, such as Beach Music and Shamrock 4‘s, will be for sale during the festival as well as the complete lineup of lottery tickets. Players purchasing $10 or more in lottery tickets have the opportunity to spin the prize wheel loaded with exciting promotional items. Look for the lottery tent near the stage on Santee Avenue!
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery was returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
