$100,000 Palmetto Cash 5 Ticket Claimed!

COLUMBIA, SC (July 14, 2009) – A North Carolina man finished eating breakfast at the Pantry Express #333 in Winnsboro, but before leaving couldn’t resist kidding the clerk about never selling him a winning lottery ticket.

For fun, he handed her a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket to check. This time the ticket was a winner. The clerk told the man, who prefers not to reveal his name, he would have to drive to a Claims Center to cash the ticket. The two weren’t sure how much he had won. They figured less than $1,000.

In Columbia he learned the good news: The ticket was worth $100,000.

“This win hasn’t sunk in yet,” he said. “The lottery representative told me three times what I had won, but I couldn’t believe what he was saying.”

On his drive home he plans to stop at the Pantry Express and let the helpful clerk know the ticket was worth a little more than they originally suspected. He also wants to let the owner of the store know he will receive a $1,000 selling bonus for selling the winning ticket.

“This is a wonderful day,” he said. “Unreal.”
